More deaths in a young driver crash: 3 passengers killed & 3 strangers seriously injured in a second car. A plea hearing avoided a court case, & 3 families left with the devastation of death of their children. #GDL reduces KSIs by up to 40% but we don’t have one!

Another tragic & avoidable example of the consequences of young driver collisions. With these families changed forever, they hold their collective breaths awaiting the sentencing hearing next week. Only then can they begin a long road to recovery & find a different life!

For all the road safety features and regulations, facts on road deaths point to some other factors - seat belts for example:

AA Charitable Trust analysed DOT data and found 43% of car passengers aged 17-29 who died in crashes on Britain’s roads between 2019 and 2023 were not wearing a seat belt.
