Step 2: Stop measuring hunger
Step 3: There's no evidence cuts to food stamps led to a rise in hunger

Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world to be a child, according to UNICEF.

Some were killed in their beds. Others while playing. Many were buried before they learned to walk.

Read a list of their names here: wapo.st/3UCiAjn
60,000 Gazans have been killed. 18,500 were children. These are their names.
Palestinian children have been killed at a rate of more than one per hour since the war began.

This was already the least productive Congress in history—and now it’s shutting down entirely because Mike Johnson is terrified of Trump (and what might be in the Epstein files). The GOP’s contempt for the American people couldn’t be more obvious.

Gross
Really important story - army officials asked soldiers to identify themselves if they don't agree with Trump's politics that way he'd get only supportive soldiers in uniform during his political rally on base. Heavier soldiers were also barred from participating.
Bragg Soldiers Who Cheered Trump's Political Attacks While in Uniform Were Checked for Allegiance, Appearance
As Trump viciously attacked his perceived political foes, he whipped up boos from the gathered troops directed at California leaders, including Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Agree
There was a moment when movies (rather than novels) took over as the primary form of fiction in our culture.

At some point we’ll all need to admit that YouTube videos have taken the non-fiction mantle.

Just watched it, strong rec!
If you’re in the US, you can watch PBS for free using the app. There’s a series of documentaries called American Experience that’s really good—each is about a different event in history.

Go watch The one about the Gilded Age in season 30.

It feels so familiar, it’s genuinely eerie.
