Centre lefty, Solicitor, Pro EU, Mum to 3 young children. Mostly rant about Politics. Enjoy wine
I think the next generationa are going to be fine. I was reading the smeds and the smoods to my almost 5 year old when my 7 year piped up "you know Charlotte it's about racism, we can be friends with all our classmates, black, brown, Muslim, Jew. It's saying that we're the same underneath" 😍

Loving the new series of Emily in Paris, hot French guy, hot Italian guy but Alfie is the one. Sure the right wing will be sulking but he is the best English man representative since James bond 😍

Well then why have you stopped offering the jab? I've tried 15 places (happy to pay) and it says the flu jab programme has ended. Where are the pop up vaccine clinics? Where is the increased eligibility? #nhs

Genuinely think I've reached my limit of politics in this climate. I've turned @tomswarbrick.bsky.social (a favourite usually) off in favour of xmas movies. The government should realise it's on a hiding to nothing and be ultra radical and rejoin the EU or something, piss NF right off 😂

I wanted labour to be radical from day 1, completely overhaul tax, fix the wealth/income disparity and massive inequality between generations, but it hasn't happened. But (no excuses) the world we are in is drastically different than when new labour pulled me out of childhood poverty...

I keep being told short term videos will rot my brain so I listen to 12 hours of politics a day on @lbc.co.uk Turns out this short form video has improved my mental health more than anything I've even seen 😂 www.instagram.com/reel/DQ0jzHy...

In Budget week, I am afraid we have to talk about Brexit.

A new report from economists at the BoE, Kings College and others puts the hit to our economy at 6 to 8% of of UK GDP.

That equates to circa £66billion in lost tax revenue.

That's why we have to go further and faster on the UK/EU reset.

Commented on a Facebook post about lifting the two child limit. Managed to get the triple lock, billionaires, ai, ageing population and anti immigrant stance in my reply so I'll be logging back on in maybe 10 years!

I don't know how commentators discuss 1. Welfare 2. Job losses 3. Ai 4. Energy costs and never seem to square the circle it's infuriating

The intellectual political divide no longer exists. I, Solicitor, have the most engaging and informative political conversations with my builder. He is articulate, clearly makes a good living and spends his spare time at the theatre. Labour need to realise the change. We hate "working people"
November 5, 2025 at 8:06 PM
@teamlabouruk.bsky.social be more Mamdani!! Not necessarily in policy but my god your messaging, stiff communication and frankly boring oratory needs addressing or you're gonna lose big. But yeah on policy there are substantially more working people than billionaires. Remember that.
November 5, 2025 at 7:20 PM
Maybe just maybe people are absolutely sick to their back teeth of billionaires control and extortion of the masses. There are far far more of us than them it's time they realise this and quietly flee to their yachts. Stay out of all of our politics!
November 5, 2025 at 6:27 AM
I have no idea if Mamdani will be a good mayor and implement the policies he has promised but my god it's nice to see the energy he has. Gauntlet down!

@newsagents.bsky.social I love your podcast and always agree with you but not today. Unless they increase taxes (which I agree with) they don't defeat Farage (by funding public sevices). It's a final roll of the dice and they have to do it. And as for what Kemi has to say 😂😂 (Liz Truss)

So, Reform would rocket-boost austerity, slash welfare *but not taxes*, cancel net zero progress, do mass deportations, huff out of the ECHR (torching the Brexit deal and our human rights)…
And to top it all off, there’d be this gem of US-funded christofascist authoritarianism on offer too.
Grim AF.
If you wondered why Nigel Farage turned up in US Congress in September speaking about "freedom of speech", this story has the answer

His appearance was orchestrated by a powerful American anti-abortion group that is trying to increase its influence in the UK by influencing the free speech debate
NEW: How a U.S. anti-abortion group has quietly positioned itself as a powerbroker between the Trump administration and Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

This current American presidential administration is run by people who are quite obviously mentally ill, and we need to start talking about that.

My 6 year old has a project about black history month so I'm explaining to him how his black football mates wouldn't have had the same rights as him, he asked if Keir Starmer fixed it and I think he might be the most optimistic #labourvoter ever 😂
September 24, 2025 at 5:37 PM
I hate Trump being here but the future economy and security of Europe depends on Starmer sucking up to him.

Jokes aside, this is precisely why Reform and Silicon Valley are so deeply in cahoots. They intend to steamroll the public interest to give the billionaire techbros what they want - and what they want is everything.
