And here I thought it wasn’t possible for me to love the em dash more
"Just because I’m not on the keyboard—and you have to add two extra steps for me to appear correctly—I’m suddenly the product of some soulless technology?"
The Em Dash Responds to the AI Allegations
“In recent months, a curious fixation has emerged in corners of academia: the em dash. More specifically, the apparent moral panic around how it is...

Just want to correct a common error I'm seeing people making: St. Patrick's Day is not the only holiday where it is customary to blast Dropkick Murphys. Labor Day is also an appropriate holiday to blast Dropkick Murphys.

I would argue that Racetrack claimed it first, but will also accept this as a correct answer along with Boots & Kid Blink #pairofnewshoeswithmatchinglaces

Come for the 40s screwball comedy, stay for the 1948 indictment of higher ed that is uncomfortably close to the present. Broadway revival with the entire reading cast please and thank you. #classicstage #goodbyemyfancy

This might be the first positive thing I can point to for ChatGPT, but, more importantly, where does it stand on the Oxford Comma?
Apparently folks think that writing that contains an em dash is a dead giveaway that it's from ChatGPT, which I guess is a sign that most people have never read anything in their lives.

This past year I’ve gotten involved with the Friends group for my local library & have attended town council meetings to advocate for funding. It’s horrifying how many people have no idea how publishers are bleeding library budgets dry with ebooks—instead they blame the library.
There are 190 people waiting for the next Rebecca Yarros book on our Overdrive. That means, with a holds ratio of 7:1 we need to buy 27 copies. At $60/copy. That's $1620 for 27 copies of 1 book.

That is fucking ridiculous and I would like to buy 0 copies. I'm contemplating it.

This is on par with finding out that the little piggy that went to market wasn’t going grocery shopping
You were all having a good day and I am here to ruin it:

All of the birds given as gifts in “12 days of Christmas” are edible birds, and I am not sure why so many of you believe they were all intended to be kept as pets for years after receipt.

So many layers to familial legacy, cultural legacy, and the fact that the sisterly bond is a complicated one.

Never had any desire to attend the Thanksgiving Day Parade, but my favorite Thanksgiving thing remains seeing the balloons get inflated the night before.

Spent the past 3 Mondays at The Irish Rep for the New Works Fall Festival. Line up was The Alternative, then The Honey Trap, & tonight with Crocodile Fever. 10/10 would recommend.
