Is Biden or Obama said that they had to rename American football because of soccer, the outrage coverage would be 24/7 for many months, with demands of public apologies.

Genuine question: has any GOP member of house or senate spoken out about the Dept of defense and Hegseth threatening sen Mark Kelly with lawfare? Beyond disturbing

Especially any veterans?

Shame on all those who stay silent

So he's going to vote for something that restates current law...that the GOP and Administration are not upholding.

Kinda makes the problem apparent, doesn't it?

You can always count on Democrats to snatch a defeat from the jaws of a win
We just won on Tuesday…

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Can we just call them the spineless 8? Notice that most of leadership including Schumer are against this "deal" . I wonder what these 8 are getting in return for being spineless sellouts...yeah 1st rule of negotiation isn't to cave on everything for nothing...
Do not cave Democrats. Put the people first. Put lives first. Without health care thousands of people will die!

Put American families first!

Vote no!

Senate Dems, do not cave. Ensuring healthcare premiums don’t surge is an 80-20 issue. They want to gut the ACA because their disdain for Obama far outweighs their concern for anyone’s health.

Elon Musk has acquired billions in government subsidies and tax breaks.

Tesla shareholders will vote whether to make him the world’s first Trillionaire.

The moral of the story is this:

If you ask for affordable healthcare & food, you’re a mooch.

If you ask for billions, you’re an entrepreneur.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Perfect response from @neguse.house.gov here. Watch this.
I love how Rep. Joe Neguse reframed this question.

I am tired of seeing posts saying that SNAP recipients should just budget their money better. The real problem is that too many people in this country are not paid a living wage. The real problem is those who hoard all the wealth. But no one wants to have that conversation.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

During today’s pro forma session, when the House is called to order I will seek unanimous consent to insist upon the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva.

Al Gore didn’t hold back: The Trump admin is “attacking the heart of truth,” twisting facts like the Nazis did in the 1930s. From climate denial to rewriting the Ukraine war, it’s all about power—not reality.
Gore warned the U.S. is under siege—and every former leader should speak out like he did.
