If you are interested in learning more about the fellow who reached that milestone last night, I have great news.
THE LAST OF HIS KIND is out in paperback today. It includes a new epilogue about the 2024 Dodgers season. I am biased, but I think it's a good book. www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/andy-...

We hit all of the most relevant topics in the MLB: Pepsi v. Coke, Radiohead’s “Fitter Happier,” the feud between Axl Rose and Bob Guccione Jr., and a stunt Marge Schott pulled in 1983.
New 'cast. And for those who don't know buttermilk bars -- it's like if you went to the county fair to get your breakfast every day. cms.megaphone.fm/channel/TAMC...

Grant talked about the bats made of Flubber. Sam and I had a healthy Sasaki debate. There was also a discussion of Skyline Chili and the classic film “Local Hero.” Fun episode.

A wonderful series, as always. Shoutout to the birds in Nick’s backyard, the swinging door near Divish and the pep in Chandler’s step. My favorite moments:

3. “If it’s broke, don’t fix it. That’s how the slogan goes, right?”

2. “A load-bearing Jose Siri.”

1 (obviously). “Shitting isn’t painting.”

Good news, bad news for fans of The Roundtable.

The bad news is we’re doing two shows a week, Mondays and Fridays, which means you’ll have to endure about 90 minutes of Grant and I pretending to have a clue.

The good news is Sam Miller has become our permanent third mic. New episode out today.

We had @timbritton.bsky.social on the pod this week. I talked about watching the Super Bowl. Grant talked about not watching the Super Bowl. Tim tolerated us both. There’s some baseball in there somewhere. podfollow.com/the-wind-up

“(The ice cream was good; if basically everything about my life was different, I'd want one.)”

That’s some good Roth, right there.
Earlier this month I went to Las Vegas and saw the bleak and lonely AI-managed world of the future at the Consumer Electronics Show. I wrote about that, and other possible futures, and a neat soft-serve machine I'd love to have in my home. defector.com/the-future-i...

New episode of The Roundtable. Grant and I discussed the exquisite torture of watching your football team face Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Also, Fabian stopped by to talk about the Dodgers.

And to promote The Roundtable, our hit podcast with @sammillerbb.bsky.social and @grantbrisbee.bsky.social. For our year-end episode we got philosophical about 88-win teams and debated the necessity of the Pirates.
