Games are awesome and have so much to offer. There’s too much negativity instead of criticism —strong believer that that there’s (almost) no place for negativity in gaming. This is a place for positive vibes. Join me!

PS. It’s a Gilmore Girls reference.

Listen to the Ghostbusters theme song, get pumped. Pretty sure that’s the rule.

Chrono Trigger
Earthbound
Final Fantasy Tactics
Lufia 2
This came up in a slack discussion the other day: what would be on your personal Mount Rushmore of RPGs? (For non-Americans, this means 4 games)

For me, it's Star Wars KOTOR, Mass Effect 1, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Ys Book I & II (TG-16 CD-ROM).

I have vivid memories of this as a kid. I never owned it, so I only ever saw it or played it with friends. It was so different and puzzling! And yes, that could make it frustrating.

The discovery of which candies do what, finding the ones you need, positioning the blob, and new areas was so fun.
Random Game of the Day

Day 79 - A Boy and His Blob

A fun platform/puzzle game with probably one of the most unique mechanics. A blob that can transform into certain items based on what jellybeans you feed it. Absolutely adore this game, even though it can be frustrating and confusing at times

@booker.senate.gov @corybooker.com Thanks again, I’m really proud of you for doing a little good trouble. You really fired everyone up, the energy is electric! Harness it and direct that energy into action. Would be a great time to get out a specific direct action list in general + for local area.

@booker.senate.gov Thank you for what you’re doing! I’d love to see more of it from more Democrats.

This is an excellent summary of current state of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters. If you’re considering a purchase or if you have a copy and want to see how it compares, take a good look here.
I finally finished my big Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster feature for @rpgsite.net comparing the games on consoles, Steam, and iOS. This covers the patches, lingering issues, platform differences, and more to help anyone decide which version they should get: www.rpgsite.net/feature/1702...

It seems like increasingly the big pro for consoles is the easy hook up to a big TV while maintaining good graphical fidelity. And possible earlier access to some games.

A steam deck can get you a similar social network, comfy gaming, a *huge* library of games, mobility, and more.

2 for me. It was amazing because we grew up poor and regularly went without many things. So when there was a Nintendo under the Christmas tree, I was floored. I still have no idea how my parents saved or afforded it — they probably couldn’t. I treasured it.
What's your number?

Not with a bang but with a whimper, indeed.

Folks, if you haven’t played Suikoden before and if you think you’ll probably only play through once, don’t feel bad using a guide. Make the most of it. There’s so much to see and do! Have no fear of the FOMO, use the guide and get all 108 stars.

Wellness check. How y’all doing? I’ll be a big comfy pillow, so lay it on me.

@smith.senate.gov Thank you. I’m so glad that some folks have the guts to stand up and say no *without* people begging them to do so. Thank you. More of this, please.

@schumer.senate.gov You’re a disgrace.
March 14, 2025 at 2:16 AM
@schumer.senate.gov If you vote for the bill, it is pathetic. You are not powerless, and your actions matter. When you choose to vote for a bill “because we can’t stop it anyway”, you are showing that supporting vets, education and many more things doesn’t matter. But it does Chuck. It does.

@amyklobuchar.com + @klobuchar.senate.gov : I am your constituent. Why did you vote to approve the labor secretary? You didn’t have to, you chose to. We should be making it as difficult as possible at every step.

I did buy the Suikoden 1 and 2 remaster.

…but Monster Sanctuary has my attention right now. It’s very well balanced so far. The skillset of each monster is different, not necessarily better or worse than any other. Pretty amazing.

Monster Sanctuary hits a sweet spot for me. Little bit of action/platforming, team building RPG with skills, and collecting creatures. If you enjoy those things, you’ll probably like Monster Sanctuary too.

Monster Sanctuary on Steam
Monster taming meets metroidvania. Collect, train and battle monsters in a lovely side-scroller pixel world.

As of last night, I have the flu. This is the 2nd time I’ve ever caught it. And oof, it’s pretty gnarly this year. Thank goodness I’m vaccinated, I’m sure it is helping a bit.

I got my colors done today. Yes, that's right. And it turns out I... am an autumn. [insert Gilmore Girls gif here]

Getting EmuDeck set up. Just my NES and SNES games for now. The thought of having all those classic games available on the go seems incredible.

…it’s going to suck up all of my time, isn’t it.

Lufia.

Some of y’all are out here tallying your 12th game you’ve beaten or 100%ed or whatever. And they’re like, long ones too, RPGs or open world games.

I am envious. It’d be pretty cool to be able to immerse myself like that, really savor the story or gameplay or both.
