Ah, that feeling when you could *really* use one extra day in the upcoming weekend to fully move out of your old house, only to discover that your company is already going to be closed on Monday and you totally forgot. Relief!

No matter how big and obvious you make the time code burn in window, invariably one of the clients will reference numbers that are nowhere near the burn in and/or ask if those numbers are going to be in the final.

Serious editing question: why do so many people “despise dissolves?”
I’ve encountered a significant number of producers that just hate them. I always want to ask them, “what did dissolves do to hurt you?”
They are part of the grammar of the moving image. Do you also write without using commas?

This. Something I noticed this year was that a large number of the posts I saw on 4-1 were just falsehoods made to appear legit. They were doctored up as legit looking press releases or they were plausible but false. Not nearly as funny as they could have been.
Tip for folks for the future:
A lie is not an april fools joke.
Just saying something untrue, especially if it causes false joy or sadness, is just you being a lazy asshole.
Making an elaborate, funny, silly joke. That's cool.
Saying something that just seems real, not cool.

Backed Deathmatch Island from @olddog.games and @evilhat.bsky.social yesterday. Today, I speed read the Preview PDF, binged actual plays. Tonight I *ran* a mini-session. I cannot heap enough praise on this game! Not only is it beautiful to look at, the game play is engaging and fun!!
