LFC. Vidya Games. Guy that does the live graphics on sports programmes. Disappointment to my parents.
The simplest answer to the issue of substitutions in Tests for injuries is simply to allow one sub, regardless of context, at any point in the first innings. That allows for players to deal with personal issues, injuries, mental health, pitch not playing as predicted or simply being utter rubbish.

Last night’s UEL final felt like a real sliding doors moment for both United and the wider world of football. Winning it would have legitimised United spending vast sums in the transfer market and kicking the debt and PSR worries a bit further down the corridor. Instead they’re now in a

#ENGZIM is a pretty placid curtain-raiser for the international summer, but great to see Zim back in the country for the first time in more than 2 decades. Sadly they seem to have brought a weak side this time around, but this must be good for their funding and great experience for the players.

In a world where the Daily Mail has set a high bar for producing unfathomably dim and misleading front pages, today’s lead on Southport is a particularly spectacular waste of ink and pulp. Turning an absolutely fair court judgement for a grim offence into a Boris Johnson story is quite the heel turn

The BBC has been desperate for Lineker to - in their eyes - fuck up. It is such a deeply broken organisation that its rules on “fairness” seem to now mean that if someone says something correct, fair & moral, it must somehow counter those points with a toxic, fascist view / mouthpiece. Weird & sad.

You know this deal with the EU is probably a decent one when all Reform and the Tories have to moan about is the vagaries of fishing.

Quite pleased we didn’t end up taking Arsenal apart there - especially in a game that had no real meaning. Don’t want anything to paper over the obvious cracks we have in the squad and shows there’s a lot of work to do in the market between the end of this season and the start of the next. #lfc

Ultimately if you’d said to me 8 weeks ago we’d have locked the league in and managed to keep Salah and Van Dijk I’d have said you were being daft, so what we’ve achieved has tempered the Trent news to an extent. I wish him good health but that’s about it. LFC is more than just players.

Feel bad for Plymouth - Luton’s win today all but relegates them on GD. Muslic has been pretty excellent since coming in to the club in the wake of Rooney’s totality of a clusterfuck and if the Pilgrims’ board had sacked Rooney sooner I’m sure they’d have survived.

Huge fan of @mo-stewart.bsky.social trying to elicit TAA news from Slot by asking a technical question about Conor Bradley. I appreciate your game, Mo.

#LFC has had some shitty scriptwriters in the past but I’m not sure you could write a more beautiful, low-stress scenario to win the league than:

- 1 point needed
- At home
- In the early summer sunshine
- Vs a team needing to save their energy for Europe
- Who are 16th in the league

Today, my sympathies go out to two groups of people. Firstly all the Catholics around the world. Secondly to all the live news TV producers who’ve been having an indulgent Easter break and who have been called to work overnight presumably with the most colossal hangovers. #thepope #popefrancis

Absolutely desperate game of football really but we march on, and now have the privilege of potentially winning the league at home v Spurs. Would have been absolutely dire to have won it in front of a couple of thousand fans whilst another team got relegated at the same time. #LFC

LFC are a tired, nervous team on the brink of history. It’s not worth trying to analyse performances in totality. It’s about doing enough and that we’re doing. It’s obviously a squad that needs some remedial action in the summer - so to win the PL with these players makes what’s to come so exciting.

You know what you don’t see anymore? People playing pan pipes in shopping malls. It’s like there was an overnight global ban on it around 2011.

Really exctiting vinyl pickups are vanishingly rare in charity shops these days, so finding this absolute banger today - disc in mint condition and with the bonus maggot brain 7” - for £2 makes the effort worth it. #recordsky #vinylsky #musicsky #funkadelic

The Ev given the Reds 5 points in the space of 72 hours. Didn’t realise they were so charitable. Cheers lads x #lfc #evears

Ultimately there needs to be some grown up conversations - if that’s even possible - at the FA about PGMOL’s fitness for purpose. It strikes me as an absolute shambles of an org, bordering on a cartel, that has no accountability whatsoever. Paul Tierney has thrown Barrott under a bus last night.

Darwin Núñez is one of those players that will forever defy the stats because he seems to lack that true “magic moment” mentality great players have. His aggregated data will look fine each yr but they don’t account for each epic “FFS” instances he brings in spades seemingly during each performance.

Not all that down after the result last night. It’s easy to say we should have won but Villa had some insane chances that our defence let through. It’s a statistically hard place to go and now Arsenal have an absolute dog of a run that we’ve just had (albeit different teams). Still confident #lfc

Spurs v Man United is a coming together of two sides who are so bad that you can easily see it being a game where neither side is allowed to have any points at full time.
February 16, 2025 at 3:03 PM
You have to imagine that with the team selection and in-game management that Slot was probably sound with whatever happened today. Annoying to go out but it now gives us two really sizeable breaks in the late season between NUFC and Soton & EFL final to Everton. #lfc #facup

Bit of a ropey first half for the Reds but, given the patchwork team we’ve picked and Plymouth’s recent improvement since the managerial change, it’s just one of those games where you want to just scrape though regardless and it’s not a given away from home and against stout oppo. #lfc #facup
