Manga Number 10: Imaginary. Another dud. Started out promising but quickly started to just meander in interminable banter-y dialog. Even the whole "imagination" angle seemed to get dropped in favor of listening to some pretty dull college kids ramble about dating stereotypes. Disappointing.

Osamu Tezuka deserves way more criticism. Yeah I know, Astro Boy, Father of Anime, I get it. But none of you know true pain until you've read 1000+ pages of an old man lecturing you about what the Holocaust and the Occupation was *really* about interspersed with creepy sex stuff.

Look, I know people who really liked Eternal might not have the same fondness for it, but I don't think we, as a profession, deny the existence of the latest DOOM game. Maybe it's controversial, but it's true.

Manga Number 9: Wash it All Away.
Look, I love slice-of-life stories, but that doesn't mean I can't still be bored by the lesser examples of the genre. This one is about an amnesiac girl who runs a laundry. The art is good, but....it's about laundry. An actual chore. It's just not that interesting.

I still clearly have a ways to go, from remembering the moves to blocking low and maintaining proper distance, *but*, compared to my younger self's embarrassing fumbling at Injustice and MK9, this is a marked improvement.

So, during my unplanned social media blackout, I mostly focused on my project to become proficient (if not actually *good*) in fighting games, starting with Tekken 8. Here's some of my ranked matches after getting the Platinum (names hidden, of course). I start on the left.

Game 25: Tekken 8 (Finished With Platinum)
Take this with a grain of salt, given I'm still not an apex Fighting Game player or anything, but Tekken 8 is a real mixed bag. The single player stuff is....okay? The multiplayer is better, but overall T8 is very...light on new ideas.

If you're looking to start one, Outlaw Star and Space Battleship Yamato 2199 reminded me a lot of Star Wars at times, and are thoroughly enjoyable.
