I spend too much (read: just enough) time thinking about muscles. As a meditative, personal practice. And as a connoisseur of excess — obscene realistic muscle growth, to be had.
The subjects themselves refer to Medusa and Perseus, as androgynous interpretations. Rather than enemies, i imagined them as friends or bedfellows even, set on spoiling the plans of King Polydectes, the schemer set to get Perseus killed.

For context, the image was loosely inspired by the myriad of gender expression I witnessed during a trans health conference I attended that summer. I recall pumping out sketches inspired by the beauty of so many people under the trans umbrella in one room.
