We need ballot measures in every state that allows ballot measures, to get money out of politics. Simultaneously, we must reform our state legislatures to not be able to overturn ballot measures, like was done in Missouri.

Due to today's inexcusable vote, 79 million innocent Americans will lose our healthcare and essential services. Some of us will survive; some of us will not. This is unacceptable, outrageous cruelty. There are no words for the atrocity that has befallen us.

The most important thing they must vote NO on is cloture. Cloture is how they end the filibuster. Cloture requires 60 votes, so they would need several Democrats to vote Republican to end the filibuster. If they end the filibuster, then the vote on the CR only requires a simple majority of 51 votes.

This is why the continuing resolution CR is dangerous: If a sequestration is ordered by the President, it would legally cancel funding for any program for any reason, without needing Congressional approval.
