Despite the utterly nonsensical bloviating of this absolutely racist administration, the Columbia settlement agreement makes clear that Trump’s minions have been purposefully conflating DEI and affirmative action. DEI is not AA, not unlawful, and the agreement makes that clear.

I hope more people who are outraged by ICE raids are also furious about how much our industries rely on undocumented labor.
I want more people to question why migrant laborers can’t attain the immigration status they want and deserve, rather than continue to ask them to “do it legally.”

I’m thinking today about all the women doing DEI work in universities, and how all of our canceled grants and shuttered initiatives means that not only are we losing the time we’ve already put in, we’re now even more behind our male peers who stayed focused on their research.

Alameda County voted to give reparations to the residents of Russell City who were harassed and burned out of their homes. My dad grew up there and my grandfather built their home on property he owned there and lost to virulent racism. It’s 1.1 million but it should be so much more.

If you needed more proof that “anti-DEI” is just blatant discrimination: anti-DEI in the DOD has resulted in EVERY woman removed from senior leadership in the armed forces. Pro -DEI in the DOD did no equivalent thing to white men. Anti -DEI is plain old American discrimination.
