Five years to the day ago the company wife and I worked for went full remote work in anticipation of the worst - which did come. And all our lives changed forever in more ways than we can count.
It's been 5 years since March 11, 2020, the day everything changed. What we went through as a country — to say nothing of as a planet — during Covid-19 is still unfathomable. When I think about how it unfolded — what it changed and what it left behind — it almost doesn't feel real.

Every major UK newspaper - left, right, broadsheet, tabloid - is running a front page campaign against copyright carveouts for AI training.
I can't remember the last time any political cause had such broad support, let alone one so anti-big tech and so economically consequential.

Just deactivated and deleted the other place. I had joined in 2009, but yesterday morning I started browsing and just realized that it's making me miserable. The worst people keep multiplying and saying the dumbest, most infuriating thing and it just feels hopeless. Life is too short. Good riddance.
