Respect for Nature is my "religion".
Decided to straighten garage wall. Foundations undermined by heavy rain, bricks under slab are drifting outwards, allowing wall to slip sideways.

Renewed & braced some foundations, but wall too heavy for me to lift, slide into place.

Will hv to fix drainage too.

Can you identify this plant?

Main feature of wildflower bed I'm establishing.

Earlier today I dug up all the Spiraxia flowers, inc the bulbs, & binned the lot.

Pretty to look at, but they are invading the lawns, now almost free of Dandelions.

Left the Freesias in place (less invasive) & moved a few Daffodils. Will be moving many more into more sunlit beds.

Honey bees & 2 species of native bee are harvesting *a tonne* of pollen from the Sparaxia in my front garden.

When they're done I'll dehead the flowers & dig up the bulbs to stop them spreading throughout the lawns.

Can you identify these flowers? Both emerge from bulbs & they are spreading through the lawns like the *&#!!@$%**&! Dandelions.

The one on the left begins as a redish bulb that turns white as the flower opens.

No Emu. Sorry. They're hiding in the inland bush. Beachcomber's camping ground owner says their appearance is erratic, no timetable.

So I took this pic of nearby coastline. It was more dramatic than it looks in pic, which is why I stopped to take the damned pic!!!

This windmill's been updated with solar tech!

From yesty's roadtrip to camp site, somewhere north of Tathra on coastal road, NSW Far South Coast.

Pic untouched due to mysterious loss of another pic while editing.

Construction of paper roll holders for cafe nearing completion; sanding for undercoat prep later today. I remove all sharp edges.

My design simpler than existing types. Much less wood, less work, faster production.

Cleaning up front yard after 3-day storm when this bird turned up.

It had a call much like that of a Satin Bower Bird.

It cd be a Grey Shrike-Thrush, based on colouring & i'net description that it is friendly & approachable.

It wasn't bothered by my presence on the lawn it was grazing on.

First backyard trail cam pic to see what's digging in my lawns at night.

This character is an Eastern Long-Nosed Bandicoot.

They dig a funnel shaped hole.

Hoping for better pics later in series. Maybe a video.

Set up simple awning in camp, usually to provide cover for stuff covering bed in the van.

Later converted it to A frame, just to see how that wd work.

Surprising amount of condensation on underside of tarpaulin next morning, I think because ground got pretty warm during arvo. Overnight temp 4C.

Wallabies seem to think trail cam is a face. They get curious, come up for closer look:

One asks: Is my bum big in this?

Last for now, I promise.
June 25, 2025 at 5:32 AM
Now hv a video editor, first attempt upcoming. Grab your popcorn, this one might surprise you.

I didn't know Wallabies did this:

Some people shd stay out of national parks; vandals, litterbugs & polluters. No respect for the places or welfare of native animals.

Some idiot hammered cable fixers into a tree root (pic).

Got tired of picking up bottle tops & plastic bits. Someone cutting tree grass lost their shears. Mine now!

Can you identify the clump of 'greenery' in this pic (NSW Far South Coastal - coastal area)?

Google pic identify gives a variety of choices, nothing definite.

Info stands at Aragunnu are deteriorating. More camp sites closed off. Access road is the worst.

You're not welcome there. Not happy Jan!

Black Swamp Wallaby, Aragunnu camping ground, Mimosa Rocks National Park, Far South Coast, NSW, Australia.

They're accustomed to visitors so it's possible to observe them up close.

Trail camera shot.

I always forget something when I go camping.

This time it was a small grill for the gas stove -- & the radio.
No radio meant 12 hours in bed (7 to 7) & no distractions.

I improvised a grill (for coffee) with steel tent pegs (Improvise, Adapt, Overcome). The coffee was great.

Been camping in the bush with the guys below (Black Swamp Wallabies) & Fairy Wrens.

I have some trail cam videos to show you, but I've no experience with video editing software. Can you advise?

The files are huge.

Also, best format for Bluesky replay?

It's Trumpty Dumpty's 79th birthday.

Coinciding with $US40 military parade to honour US Army.

Meanwhile, demonstrations against King Trump being staged in every State capitol.

He doesn't like being compared with a king & he doesn't like the picture below, so don't re-post it, ok?

Caught this unusual cloud formation at sunset last night.

I'm sure the colours were more spectacular than they appear here.

Need to resolve something about 'Liberal values'. I've found a couple of lists that shd help clear up the matter, in case there's any remaining doubt.
May 14, 2025 at 4:05 AM
Liberal leader demonstrates how to "Get Australia back on track".

Not only went off track but lost his seat in the process.

The long leaves of my Ctenanthe (var. Setosa) plant began to curl inwards. Research suggested lack of humidity.

Fixed that, then it happened again recently. Same treatment, got worse!

Info card in pot said "light & shade". Moved it up to window, dapped light through venetians, fixed!

Donald Trump doesn't like the lovely painting below. He's had it taken down.

If you repost it he'll slap a tariff on you & if you complain about that he'll double it.

So don't repost it, okay?
April 9, 2025 at 12:10 AM
My favourite painting of Donald Trump.

I wouldn't repost it but because he doesn't like it. He might deport you.
