Not a fan of single digit weather. I remembered to not leave my laptop in my car, but I left it by my door and it probably got as cold as if it was outside. Turns out my heat pump just doesn't like single digit either.

Post: Freddy Mercury died of AIDS 33 years ago today. With modern medical technology, he likely would have lived. Never forget how much progress against major infectious disease has been made in a short time. We are at risk now of rolling back much of that progress.

Today I had to surrender the family cat. We adopted her early summer. She was very sweet to the adukts but standoffish to the kids. Which devolved into more aggressive behavior towards the youngest. She was the one who begged us to adopt this cat. We tried lots of mitigation with no avail. Very sad

My oldest was in the local holiday parade today. She got to dance with her dance studio and be near the front of the formation. She had a great time. The people on the streets were having fun too. Times like these it's important to find joy where you can.
