While we're all scratching our heads over what 6-7 means, I'd like to propose bringing back a slang term from 80 years ago that is masterfully descriptive of everything right now:

FUBAR.

Marjorie Taylor Green did the only good thing for the United States that she has ever done last night. I'm not worried about her pension, if we could pay off another 20 or so Republicans to get the hell out of government we might be able to make some progress.

As a protest against Trump I plan to use Arabic numerals exclusively from now on.

I suspect Laura uses Roman numerals but can only get as far as 3.
A quick lesson here are Arabic numbers…

I guess it's not fair to expect the President to have read the Uniform Code of Military Justice when it's widely known that he can't read.

Pretty ironic that graduate nursing degrees are not considered "professional" any more while dressing up like Mad Max, throwing chairs at people, and standing still while an opponent climbs up on a turnbuckle and does a backflip onto your head is considered "professional wrestling."

I know this has been said plenty of times, but is there anybody out there who isn't a corporate journalist who does not believe Trump pitched a sh*t fit because he INTENDS to issue illegal orders to the military?

Three days ago, starting to feel this cold, I was vowing not to let it get in the way of some projects I wanted to do before the family comes here for Thanksgiving.

Today, butt thoroughly kicked, I'm looking around thinking, "It doesn't look so bad, I'll just live with it."

I'd predict a lot of one-legged turkeys hopping around.

Because you don't eat a turkey like that all at once.
Paul Kelly's family farm in England has been selling $500 heirloom turkeys for two generations. Now, after a decade breeding them in Virginia, KellyBronze birds are looking to gobble up America's Thanksgiving market.

I was telling my mother last night that we're only weeks or days away from Trump having a truly irredeemable breakdown on national TV, and today we're seeing the "Quiet, Piggy!" story take off.

Problem is, even that isn't quite irredeemable enough for the complicit press.

Translating claims on cold medicines:
"12 hour relief": peters out after about 4 hours
"Extra Strength": only if you take extra doses
"Non-drowsy": 3 hours of jitters, followed by a crash
"Night time": fall asleep OK, but wake up a wheezing mess in a couple of hours.

Yeah, I have a cold right now.

I was reading an article about how people in other countries can tell if you're an American when you're visiting (many things were good), and it occurred to me that one way to look really stupid is to try to act like you're a local.

Anybody else watch the first episode of Ken Burn's documentary on the American Revolution last night and notice the uncanny parallels with today?

"Ah'm a-votin' fer Trump cause he lowered the price of steak! Ah still cain't afford it, but that's Makin' 'Murica Great raht thar.
How much of a moron do you have to be to STILL, after all the shit that has gone down, remain an enthusiastic shill for this obviously incompetent con man.

Dawgs' smashing victory last night is just made more sweet because they beat the team the announcers were so shamelessly rooting for.

I do not believe all Republicans or even all MAGAs will ignore or try to deflect from Trump's pedophilia, but a not-insignificant portion of them will absolutely do so.

Megyn Kelly's remarks are going to seem mild when some of them start blaming the victims, for just one thing.

I've seen at least two stories in different publications today marveling about how Trump's "Teflon Don" reputation is starting to crack, with absolutely zero recognition that it was completely a result of cowardly and biased reporting to start with. Self-awareness is not their strong suit.
November 15, 2025 at 2:31 PM
I watched MAGA brains short out when I asked them if tariffs imposed by China meant we were paying taxes to them. Now I'm looking forward to hearing them explain how lowering tariffs on food decreases the cost to us if the other country is paying them. No expectation of an answer to that, either.

Just remembering how Bill Clinton attacked Al Qaeda bases in Afghanistan in 1998 after they bombed some of our embassies, and every smirking idiot out there started yapping, "Wag the Dog!"

Something to remember when Trump attacks Venezuela next week.

I was reflecting on the likelihood that when Democrats regain power, we'll have a whole chorus of "Look forward not backward" from many of them, with few if any consequences for what Republicans have done. Before this week, I was starting to think maybe not. Now I think it will most likely happen.

Man, I shudder to think of what we've become when we see somebody reading a book and think, "Fuck that performative asshole."

The time to deal with the people who kicked the chair out from under us is coming, next year or whenever they come up for re-election.

Now there really won't be any excuse not to release the Epstein files, and when Johnson tries to stonewall it again, that's the thing to direct anger towards.

If you need a pick-me-up today this ought to help.

Oh, and thanks at least to my senators (Ossoff and Warnock) for holding the line.
