This title might be the biggest positive publicity for the state since Huey Lewis included both Tulsa AND OKC in “The Heart of Rock and Roll” in 1984.

Seems absurd but, remove “sports” from that. Outside of bad/tragic events, is this the biggest moment for the state, ever?

But then again, sometimes dominance just makes it look like there isn’t much competition in a sport. The Bill Russell Celtics fall into the same category

UConn hoops is definitely up there. I admit to not paying as much attention to women’s hoops back then but the argument I would make for OU softball is there is way more parity in softball than that period of hoops. So much of that era was just UConn and Tenn then a huge gap before the next teams
