Impossible to communicate to people that once you decide that a group more vulnerable than you can be sacrificed in the name of your own safety or interests that you have already entered into an tacit agreement that you can also be sacrificed in the interests of a group less vulnerable than you.

Man, this Charleston Battery side is fun to watch. Ben Pirmann plays high tempo ball, and La Barra keeps the beat going all. match. long.

This convo is so important especially the therapy speak ChatGPT used.

I suggest reading AI Snake Oil by @randomwalker.bsky.social and @sayash.bsky.social.

Chapter 4 talks about GenAI, and gives a great overview of the history, the harms, and the limitations of these tools.
More men are using ChatGPT-- thus might be more likely to be defensive of it ---when women question its ethics and possible emotional manipulation, gaslighting, and covering up of its "actions".

Again, the "what were you saying/doing/wearing when the bot did that to you"?
Bit of an odd story this one - the main analysis says women don't use AI because they lack STEM skills, confidence and value in the workplace. Yet the anecdotes suggest that women excel at communication, whether writing or interpersonal, and can spot ChatGPT's flaws

Yeah I know people say anxiety is bad, but mine has just been collecting all the possible things that can go wrong so far. Once it has an exhaustive catalog of every possible mishap, it’ll move on to suggesting solutions and then you better watch out.

Why is Genoa’s keeper wearing their home shirt with similar color short and socks as the outfield players in this match against Inter?

The names of two sports betting operators are all over the King Power Stadium right now: BC.GAME and 8Xbet, Asian betting partner of both LEI and MCI. Both are illegal (*), listed as 'inactive' by the GB Gambling Commission and unlicensed in the UK. Yet here they are. Football works miracles.

Seen a few folks astonished by my lack of support for ChatGPT and similar. Because AI, right?

Yeah, no. What we have right now is glorified autocorrect. Glorified autocorrect that takes the energy of an entire city to do what it does, plus half of Lake Erie to cool down while it's doing it.

This. Project 2025 is the oligarchs taking full advantage of a heel. Heels are not the architects of their own rise to prominence. And you can bet the Heritage Foundation has a plan for his demise.

I bet a large fraction of new followers here are not CoCoRaHS observers, no better time than now to join!

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/
