It was fun. Reading and debunking it was a good exercise in epistemology and schooled history. Now everything is an exercise in epistemology so less fun now

It’s crazy the difference and it’s crazy how quickly the language changed. Obviously the Norman invasion was a huge influence but the diversity of Germanic dialects that made up the vocabulary is fascinating. There’s a lot baked into English that is long lost in Germany, Benelux, Denmark et al
