Gavin Newsom launched a website to combat the wildfire disinformation spreading about Los Angeles, because people can’t be bothered to do a simple Google search before sharing nonsense. And because people suck!

“I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.”

The quote, often misattributed to Mark Twain, is by Clarence Darrow and endorsed by Parisians.
The crowd in Paris celebrating Le Pen’s death is large.

He was a convicted Holocaust denier & his political views were rife with racism, Islamophobia & anti-semitism.

To many, he was a stain on French politics which remains to this day, despite his daughter’s attempts to soften the party’s image.

Sorry - a not so very good Sunday ice update. #Arctic sea ice extent is easily the *lowest* on record to kick off a new year (JAXA data)... 🌊

• about 610,000 km² below the 2010s mean
• about 2,160,000 km² below the 1980s mean

Happy perihelion! At 13:28 UTC, Earth reached its closest point to the sun in its orbit, a mere 147,104,000 million km distant, about 1.5% closer than average. It's all uphill now until aphelion in July.

David Attenborough is right, “if we continue on our current path, we will face the collapse of everything.” We know what we need to do, it’s the corruption & lies of the fossil fuel companies & our leaders that makes extinction more likely. We need zero emissions within 5yrs!

This\ is, in at least one way, the most remarkable piece of art on earth. I think everyone should know the story of it.

So I made a video about it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb9_...
