Long-time SF/F reader, occasional writer. I live in Arizona with my wife, several housemates, and a small mob of cats.

I strive for posts that are amusing, informative, and/or wise. (The last one's the toughie.)
Well, okay, but MY Heavenly mansion better not be next door to... [takes a very long list from pocket]..., or I'm gonna be raising some Hell.

Plus, you have Chrissy. [mental image of Chrissy on a riding mower, taking on a zombie horde. Poor zombies.]

Looks like the traditional Baked Tribble is being served.

"something something" is one of the most useful tools in a writer's toolbox.

(Wouldn't have been surprised if one of Iain Banks' Culture ships had been named Something Something.)

Reminds me of when our Outlander got hit in 2016. I was on my way to a writers group meeting. Messaged the group organizer: "Got T-boned on way to meeting. Major damage car. Minor damage me."

(Hit hard enough my northbound car ended up facing south.)

Couldn't count the times the Sunday newspaper's color comics did double duty as wrapping paper.

(Didn't think of my own family as "poor" growing up, only realized in later years how tight the finances were.)

Oh, I'm pretty sure I followed you on Twitter, back when. Didn't know you were here! Followed, no problem.

Where do you think Langwidere got all her heads?

(Head-swapping Langwidere was an off-screen plot element in my Spaghetti-Western Oz story "The Kansas Kid and the Wizard of Dodge" in BLACK CAT WEEKLY.)

That headline took several readings, because "human bait, WHAT?"

(Reminded of Walter Reed's yellow fever research, where several colleagues deliberately exposed themselves to multiple mosquito bites, including one who died of the disease.)

Pretty sure it's a time zone thing. If they release from 12:01 AM in an East coast time zone and you're in Pacific zone, you can still get to bed at a reasonable time.

Now, me, I'd be saying "Just keep your butthole on that paper. Do NOT move closer to the webcam and do the LET ME SHOW YOU MY BUTTHOLE thing to everyone on the Zoom call."

We watch a lot of trivia-based game shows, and I've concluded there's actually a Universal Answer to *any* question about the Kardashians:

"Who cares?"
