Supporter of Scottish Independence and the creation of a fairer, more democratic republic of Scotland. My views expressed are my own.
About bloody time. Totally fed up, being told we have to ask permission to have a vote. Self determination is a right enshrined in international law.

Yes, but to be fair to the U.K. Government, Wales and England are the main oil producers in the U.K……………..Oh wait, what?!?

Must be one of those fabled benefits of the “Broad shoulders of the Union”

Would love to know what the split is of the U.K. total between England, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland.

Maybe you would like to explain why Scotland, with the 2nd highest oil production in N.Europe, will have no oil refinery, but England will have 5 refineries.
Why are Englands 5 refineries a success, but Scotlands 1 refinery an economic basket case?

I’d bet that the unionist media will start to target Prestwick. Anything that shows Scotland can be successful without needing WM permission,
Is deemed a threat by unionists.

Highlander: people in Scotland aren’t immortal unless their heads are chopped off. And they don’t speak English with a French accent. And Spanish people generally don’t speak English with a Scottish accent. But other than that, it’s definitely historically accurate.

Worth reminding unionists of this ALL THE TIME.

During Thatcher’s first term, Scotland was producing >2m barrels of oil per day at an average price of about $120/bbl.
She literally had an almost unlimited cash flow, and proceeded to waste it on deindustrialising the U.K.
The most economically inept PM in UK history.

Could not have summarised the situation better. Exactly this. High time England, Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland became independent nations, either within or outwith the EU.

Question for the older Scots in here: what anthem did Scotland fans sing at internationals, prior to Flower of Scotland?

Why do old people know more about the evils of fascism than most?

IEA Data on recent nuclear power stations build. Says it all really.

Hahaha - if Scotland isn’t a viable standalone country, then England sure as hell isn’t.

Scotland with onshore wind, hydro, pump storage, offshore wind, coupled with battery storage has more than enough renewable energy to power the 5.4m people.
England, with its ban of onshore wind, and 60m people, not so much.
That’s why the U.K. (England) gov want nuclear.

after the 2026 election, we first ask Westminster, when they refuse, the Scottish Gov makes a very public statement that Westminster is refusing to acknowledge the Legitimate democratic election and then we go to the international court and ask them to supervise a referendum.

It’s a Westminster ploy for two reasons:
1) to allow Westminster to keep Scotland on the hook financially for decommissioning costs.
2) For Scotland to be “considered” and then “selected” as a nuclear storage site for decommissioning waste for U.K. (England) nuclear waste.
