The Greens are calling on APRA to step in & stop the skyrocketing property investor lending that is fueling the housing crisis. New ABS data shows investor lending has jumped by 12.3% while first-home buyer loans have risen by just 0.9%. Who's buying all the houses? Investors. 🧵

I'd sooner trust a stoned monkey with a bag of hand grenades than this lot with the economy.
Amazing story in The Times. Reform UK failed to pay VAT to HMRC on its sales (tickets, merchandise). About £400k in all.

Not tax avoidance. Not tax evasion. They just didn't realise when you sell stuff you have to charge VAT.

The Middle East stands at a crossroads where climate change, conflict, and inequality converge. If water continues to be treated as a weapon, the region will face erosion of any possibility of trust among its peoples. #auspol #MiddleEast
When water becomes war: The moral failure of global governance in the Middle East
Global powers that once justified their interventions in the Middle East with rhetoric about human rights remain silent when basic rights are violated through the denial of water.

Garcia: What we got was complete bullshit. We demanded the full Epstein files, and that’s not what was sent over. The White House cover-up clearly continues. What they sent us was 33,000 pages of documents that have already been in the public domain.

Here’s a question for the CBC: if every source you talk to and every piece of data you draw on in your reporting unequivocally demonstrates this is genocide, why won’t you call it genocide?

It’s okay, we know why.

Australia’s mandatory voting system is what differentiates us from America’s broken democracy. There, hard-right, extremists and religious zealots can build a movement like MAGA which don’t represent mainstream opinion. When everyone has to vote, extremists cannot prevail. Proud to be Australian 🇦🇺

Seriously deluded & unhinged! #auspol #abc730
