There hasn't been a single time in my life that watching Lord of the Rings again hasn't been the right answer. Seriously though, every time I watch it, it always feels extremely relevant to my life and gives me unexpected guidance. Every. Time.

You will do readings where no one shows up. You will set up at events and sell no books. Rejection will show up in your inbox again and again. You will say “I wrote a book!” and folks will stay quiet or say “Cool!” and then not buy it. It’s all good. Part of the gig. KEEP AT IT.

My spiritual journey has brought me so much strength and joy, despite its challenges, but man is it lonely sometimes. There's so many things I don't have words for and there aren't people to validate the experience often. It can feel so estranging sometimes.

Caught between knowing I need to just live my life with joy and presence and knowing a Big Something is gonna flip everything we know on its head pretty soon. I guess both are their own kind of fun 🤷🏼♂️.
