I LOVED Liberty's Kids, even though I was probably a little bit too old for it when I discovered it.

They don’t even necessarily *know* whether they’re using LLMs anymore. What’s OK? Summaries, Grammarly? Brainstorming? Their college has an institutional subscription to ChatGPT, so why is their prof mad at them for using it?

I highly recommend showing your students this. I've been exposing my students to so much of this in my FYW course and it's eye opening for them. Nothing has been more effective at getting students to turn away from blind acceptance of AI than showing and *talking about* what it actually outputs.

I prefer my zombies Romero-style -- slow and with as a commentary on racism, consumer culture, and the military industrial complex. Fast zombies freak me out a little bit.

I try to give them tools so that doing things like reading scholarly articles doesn't feel so intimidating and so that they can have confidence in themselves and not be so impressed by the AIs. This part is an uphill battle for me. /end

Students are reading a wide variety of articles about AI (including how it works, a variety of articles on sketchy use cases, what it's bad at, etc.), we are talking about it extensively, and they are using it selectively. /2

Honestly, I'm doing a very watered down version of this in my FYW class this semester and it has been transformative. Nothing has been better (for me) at getting students to understand why they shouldn't use it to do their writing/thinking for them than just exposing them to it and its flaws. /1
