We kept hearing water rail the whole time we were there but couldn’t see any. Someone in the local Facebook just posted photos of it flying, taken from the hide we were in some time after we were there 😭😭

The path to further along the sea wall is currently closed whilst they place some large rocks in front of the wall to protect it from erosion. The closure means Kingston Pill inlet and Dowlais Pool(*) can't be viewed (*is it a pool yet after it dried up over the summer?!)
