1/ As discussed on Friday's @openargs.bsky.social, ICE has always counted on well-meaning allies to handle a substantial portion of their psyops.

Here's what you should know about ICE "raids," and how I suggest that you talk about them as things unfold
@mattcameron.bsky.social I have no way to identify if this is something people should be terrified of or if it's an example of what you were just talking about, that it shouldn't be overblown and doing their propaganda fear work for them.

Over 50% of nonviolent movements to overthrow governments are successful within one year of their peak.

The key is to engage over 3.5% of the country, a cross-section of society—clergy, kids, grandmas, teachers) using DIVERSE & CREATIVE tactics, with women in leadership.

We can do this.

This morning my cats pulled the brackets for one of my bedroom curtains fully out of the wall, knocking over two plants in the process. How's your day going?

'The readiness to repudiate identity politics & group them under “bad woke” is less about policy and more about the fact that social justice never really found a home amongst liberals, who were happy to capture its energy but not its demands.'

Why is this simple explanation being so widely embraced? Because it does not require a commitment to real, structural change, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

Imagine my surprise when my doctor said it was okay for me to walk to the bathroom! I've been strenuously avoiding walking since my surgery and was in fact terrified to try. Not only could I walk a short distance, but it didn't really hurt. Not signing up for a 5k anytime soon but better every day!

I had bunion surgery on Thursday. My husband is keeping me fed, my kitties are making sure I keep my foot elevated, and I finally laid down to sleep and it was glorious. I think I'm going to be OK!
