We launched on Monday to assist in the search for a person seen entering the water off Hove Lawns.

Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, sadly a woman in her 50s was confirmed to have died. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. 💙

🚫 Please don’t tombstone 🚫

Jumping into the sea from piers, groynes or other high spots might seem like harmless fun but it can be incredibly dangerous and even life-threatening.

We’re urging everyone to enjoy the coast safely and choose safer ways to have fun by the sea.
May 2, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Our crew was then redirected to a stranded boat south of the West Pier. The vessel had lost power and was unable to call for help as it had no VHF radio.

After a welfare check, the decision was made to tow the vessel safely back to #Brighton Marina.

📻 Always carry a means of calling for help.

On April 19, our volunteer crew launched after a woman’s body was found at sea, five miles off the #Brighton coast.

We brought her back to shore and continue to support our police and coastguard colleagues. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.

🎥 Watch our crew in action (1/2)

Our volunteers were paged recently to help two first-time paddleboarders who were blown a mile out to sea by strong offshore winds in #Brighton.

No lifejackets. No experience. Both were rescued and taken to hospital as a precaution.
