🚨 Two Sunday shouts for Brighton RNLI

Our volunteer crew were first called out at 1.30am on Sunday to an incident close to shore, working alongside other emergency services to bring it to a safe conclusion.

🚨 Shout #75 – Friday

Our volunteer crew launched to a report of a jet skier in trouble east of Brighton Marina.

Despite swift action from our volunteers and SECAmb, the casualty sadly didn’t survive. 💔

Our thoughts are with their family and friends. 💙

A big well done to Andy (front), who joined his first shout with Brighton RNLI this week 🙌

The crew were tasked on Sunday evening after reports of a woman entering the sea off Kemptown. Thankfully, police were already on scene and the casualty was taken into care before the lifeboat arrived.

We launched on Monday to assist in the search for a person seen entering the water off Hove Lawns.

Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, sadly a woman in her 50s was confirmed to have died. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. 💙

Nathan White’s first shout with #Brighton RNLI. Nathan joined the crew on tasking at 6.40pm on Wed.

The team was sent to reports of a vessel drifting about one nautical mile south of Rottingdean. On arrival, the object was found to be a pontoon float adrift at sea. It was brought back to shore.

On Friday night at 11.27pm, our volunteer crew launched to reports of a female in the water in Hove.

The casualty was located around 200m offshore, recovered safely to shore, and handed into police custody for care and assessment by paramedics.

We were stood down just after midnight.

At 11.35pm last Thursday we were tasked to reports of a person in the water near the King Alfred Centre.

Conditions were moderate to rough, with fears they could be swept out by the tide. Our volunteer crew launched, with Shoreham RNLI also called to provide support.

Sat 31 Aug – Tasked to Saltdean Beach after reports of a person in the water. Casualty recovered and handed to paramedics for further care.

Wed 3 Sept – Tasked again to Saltdean for a person in the water. Casualty recovered and brought ashore.

Our crew launched to assist a sailing vessel experiencing engine failure.

Two people and their dog were on board and due to the weather were unable to sail safely into #Brighton Marina.

The vessel was brought safely back to its pontoon. Everyone is safe and well. 🐾

02:22, 28 Aug – Shoreline search between marina & palace pier. Stood down at 04:39.

✔️ Remember to Float to Live if you get into difficulty

🚨 Late on Friday night, our volunteer crew launched to a concern for an individual on the seafront near Black Rock.

The individual was safely taken into care and our lifeboat stood down at 11.45pm. As always, our thanks to all emergency service colleagues for their swift response and support.

Yesterday at 2am, our crew launched following reports of a missing person in distress. Thankfully, they were found safely elsewhere soon after we launched. We wish them well and thank all involved in the search for their swift response. 🙌

Our volunteer crew launched today to Banjo Groyne in #Brighton following concerns for a person close to the water.

The situation was safely resolved with support from the police and the crew were stood down.

🚤🌅 Golden hour training with #Brighton RNLI 🌅🚤

Our volunteer crew headed out for a sunset afloat exercise – this time working alongside IN XS, the yacht of crew member Radek, to practise towing techniques.

Training like this keeps us ready for the real thing. Big thanks to everyone involved.
