Your example literally happened to me, only it was the women's clothing aisle at Walmart.
It's not "this guy who likes makeup must secretly be a woman", it's "this person who's stifling the urge to panic when walking past the makeup aisle clearly has some deep-set fear of being perceived next to femininity which is almost certainly causing more harm than what's externally visible"
