I got up early this morning and hit the good donut shop for half a dozen. #Charley decided that one of the Boston Cremes was for him.

Friend, it was not.

Anyone else playing Anno 117? I never played Anno 1800, but I love me an ancient city builder. Bought it first day of release, which is often a bad move, but it seems pretty solid on Day One.

Couple of days ago, the local news reported that a guy saw an alligator in the Charles River. The alligator has been found, but he's A LOT smaller than the original story suggested.

This gift exchange website we're using for Christmas thinks the only things a 55+ man would be interested in are power tools and golf balls. Two things I have absolutely zero interest in. At least they didn't suggest a necktie.

Cheese night! Treble-cream Robiola, a super soft Gorgonzola Dolce, and a Gouda called Ruby Rouge. Glass of tawny port, plus olives, cornichons, ham, etc.

Determined to get as many vaccinations as possible before RFK Jr. kills us all. Yesterday it was my TDAP booster. Still have RSV and pneumonia vax to go!

My wife's baking binge continues apace as she has moved on to making mincemeat from scratch for a mincemeat pie. She's got a big bowl of dried fruit soaking in booze and spent a good part of yesterday making candied citrus peel.

All the hub-bub outside has had the cats agitated all evening. It has quieted down in the last 15 minutes or so, so I'm hoping they'll calm down now.

It's THAT DAY here in Salem. Wife went to the grocery store early before the cops shut down all the streets. They send the kids home from school at noon to get them home before the madness begins. Anybody with any sense stays away. It's like The Purge, but for real.

Quintessential New England fall day, gray and drizzly and chilly. Pot roast in the oven. Cat on my lap. Perfect.

Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.

Honestly at some point you have to start doing psyops with these people:

Have Obama announce that he will seek a third term tomorrow. Then watch all the con law “scholars” and Fix News MELT DOWN trying to explain why he can’t but Trump can. (It’s like Newsom taking over his social media persona)
Q: One theory on how you might try to serve a 3rd term is that you could run at the vice president

TRUMP: Yeah, I'd be allowed to do that. But I would rule that out because it's too cute.

My wife has been on a baking binge for the last couple of weeks. So far she's made croissants, raspberry-filled and nutella-filled bread, cranberry-chocolate chip cream scones, a berry pie, a tomato and ricotta galette, banana bread, and a chocolate babka.
