Journalist Jim Shella guest-hosted a podcast interview with Indiana Senate President Pro Tem Rod Bray.

Shella's questions about redistricting were cut from the final interview, which he called "spineless." But he shared them anyway. Bray squirmed mightily. www.ibj.com/articles/jim...

Question: Why did US put big tariffs on India despite major national interest in cultivating a strategic counterweight to China and trying to isolate Russia?

Answer: Because the US president lied that he fixed India-Pakistan and India wouldn’t go along with the lie.

(Seriously, that’s the answer)

Many on the DOGE team are from Elon Musk’s world in Silicon Valley.

We’ve mapped out a list of people affiliated with DOGE, including creating a searchable table with each member, their corporate history, and the agencies they’ve been connected to.

Terrific piece by @wdownard.bsky.social for @indianacapitalchronicle.com on effects proposed federal cuts would have on Indiana

They are huge- 44% of Indiana's budget is federal dollars (the 3rd most in the US)

In Indiana we undertax and underspend

The Republicans’ proposed cuts to Medicaid are potentially catastrophic. In Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District 160,764 people (64%) receive Medicaid/CHIP. The loss of $2.01B to the district over the course of 9 years means that 54,000 people will lose health care, food aid, and nursing home care.
The Republican House Budget Resolution's Potential $880 Billion in Medicaid Cuts by Congressional District
The Republican House budget resolution would cost congressional districts an average of $2 billion each and could eliminate coverage for 15.9 million people.

Indiana already had one of the lowest unemployment benefits in the country. Families can’t live on $400 a week, and Hoosiers who find themselves jobless shouldn’t have an even harder time putting food on the table, paying for rent, and buying medicine.

If you live in Indiana

the combination of SB2, which will arbitrarily cut 28% of medicaid recipients from its rolls

and the newly passed federal House budget, which will require cuts to medicaid

means many many many more people will now be uninsured

this helps none of us

YASSS!!! Finally! There’s nothing more political than the courts.
Very interesting: For the first time, @thedlcc.bsky.social has put state supreme court races on its target list. Even though DLCC focuses on legislative races, the courts in both PA & WI have had a profound impact on redistricting and will again in the future. Both are hosting major races this year.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
