Nicholas Kristof nails it: "this is vandalism of the American project. That is why this moment is a test of our ability to step up and protect our national greatness from our national leader."

We the people need to stand up and protect our democracy.

The Indiana legislature is simultaneously attempting to reduce local revenue streams and local control.

Hoosiers deserve better.

The Republicans’ proposed cuts to Medicaid are potentially catastrophic. In Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District 160,764 people (64%) receive Medicaid/CHIP. The loss of $2.01B to the district over the course of 9 years means that 54,000 people will lose health care, food aid, and nursing home care.
The Republican House Budget Resolution's Potential $880 Billion in Medicaid Cuts by Congressional District
The Republican House budget resolution would cost congressional districts an average of $2 billion each and could eliminate coverage for 15.9 million people.

The Trump/Vance attempt to humiliate and bully Zelenskyy in the Oval Office was entirely shameful.

Those who voted for Donald Trump didn't know that they would lose their health care.

He promised time and time again he wouldn't touch Medicaid — now he's blessed the House Republicans' plan to take it all away.

He lies over and over again. It's time we wake up.

Trump and Vance showed a level of crassness and vulgarity never seen before in the White House with a foreign leader and guest. They were the worst kind of ignorant disgusting bully. They’ve turned our nation into a global embarrassment. And a global threat.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

If this is enacted, Indiana will be sued.
NEW: Indiana already has stringent voter ID rules... & the GOP is advancing a bill right now to strip university IDs from the list of options you can use.

This would make it much harder for students to vote.

At polling site at IU Bloomington, 2/3rds of voters in November used their student IDs.
Indiana Republicans Move to Ban Student IDs for Voting - Bolts
The new restriction, paired with Indiana’s stringent voter ID rules, would make it much harder for many young people to vote in a state that already ranks near-last in turnout.
