Ok, ICE ads are final straw I'm done with Spotify (although I have to be a good Dad and let my kids get their 'Wrapped' for the year). I'm leaning Tidal, since Apple and Google are horrible companies as well. I'm sure Tidal is too but they don't seem as blatantly evil. Am I missing something?

Because I can't add anything more eloquent to the "Democratic cave" shitshow than what so many have said I'll take a deep breath and say that I've enjoyed the first two episodes more than I thought I would!

Dems do it again! Pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. They all need to be primaried ASAP and Schumer needs to go as leader TODAY!

Just finished this last night. Should absolutely be essential reading for everyone in the world, probably starting at maybe 15 or so? Because if every one of us isn't wise to what they're doing to all of us we can't stop it!

Got to say when I saw Schumer proposing end to shutdown I worried that here was patented "Schumer cave." But it's possible D's made savvy move here. Force a vote on entirely reasonable compromise and then when Rs reject it you've strengthened Ds hand. Credit where due maybe he's not totally useless!

As far as I can tell neither @schumer.senate.gov nor @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social has congratulated Zohran on his landslide win, of the city in which they BOTH live. This is pathetic, and why neither of them is fit for leadership. Time to step aside boys an let the Dems will actual ideas through!

So ex-reality show Transportation Sec is going to cut flights (from blue cities/states of course, as if blue city airports don't occasionally fly to red states!) in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. After massive rejection of R policy last night. This might not work out how they think it will!

When I saw news that Dick Cheney had died I thought I'd say something but was not surprised to see that @audacityofdespair.bsky.social said what I thought in a smarter and more authoritative way.
Saddest think I can't think to say is that 1) he lived long enough to be somehow perceived -- by a matter of raw contrast -- as a plausible, proportioned Republican leader and 2) to know that his post-Watergate belief in the restoration of an imperial presidency led to our current national hell.
Dick Cheney just died.

I'd love to be fly on the wall for convo in which someone on Cuomo's team thought endorsements from Musk & Trump was good idea! Trump was hated in NYC long before he went full fascist. Who thought endorsements from those 2 guys was a good idea? Laughing at all the big biz folks who dumped $$ on him!

So grifter-in-chief was on the program that used to be called '60 Minutes' last night. They recorded 65-70 minutes but used 35 or so? Thus they...edited...the footage? If I were lawyer working with/for VP Harris, I'd file a lawsuit, just to further illustrate the absurdity of all this!

When I find myself in complete agreement with David Brooks I know we're in uncharted territory! I don't think he focuses enough on ills effect of social media and fragmented media landscape but this is pretty essential reading, and very very well written!

Herbie Hancock, Strathmore 11/1. Amazing. An 85-year old man and his band play a 2.5 hour show that ends with extended take on his 80s hit 'Rockit' with Hancock on keytar, during which he dances with his obviously much younger guitar player. Amazing show amazing band. Go see legends while you can!

Watched 'House of Dynamite' last night. Anything that Kathryn Bigelow does is no-brainer. Surprised to read some neg reviews I thought it was incredibly well done, compelling. Scariest part is realizing that people in those govt military etc roles IRL right now are unqualified incompetent hacks!

In the grand scheme of things, doesn't being "woke" just mean being a decent human being? And thus not being "woke" means being a shit person? It's pretty simple really!

If you're launching airstrikes that killed 104 people, including dozens of children, it's not really a ceasefire is it?! Come on @cnn.com so a little better with the headlines.
Shocked that T. and N. maybe weren't sincere about the ceasefire couldn't have seen that coming. (that was sarcasm).

Few days old, I won't link to articles cause they all seem to have his face. When we got my Dad (who's only 2-3 older than him) an MRI, it was because we thought (correctly) that he had Alzheimer's/dementia symptoms. You don't get one as part of your standard well visit. Who's gonna tell him?

Because it's important to always remember to share the joy, here's an album that has been blowing me away since it came out earlier this year. It's 90s influenced ambient techno electronica and it's absolutely brilliant. @neoouija.bsky.social #ambienttechno #electronicmusic

44 minutes of essential viewing. Utterly heartbreaking. Chris Hedges is a truth teller. Mainstream media could learn SO much from him. They won't, but they could. #FreePalestine

An interesting read but few points:
1. Idea of 1 big-tech company making another company 'be better' doesn't make me overly enthused.
2. Prince refers to "almost every reasonable AI company..." Are there actually any?
3. Partnership with Microsoft so isn't this just biz strategy for Bing?
