Brexit is the toxic epicentre of the political shitshow we now have to endure. It promoted idiocy and deceit, endorsed racism, divided us, made us poorer, weaker, less safe and less sane. It’s belittled the country, killed the Tory party and given birth to Reform.
A relentless klaxon of failure.
What a gargantuan mess. #Brexit

🧵 Why is it that @EmmanuelMacron can tell the British people the plain truth — that Brexit was sold on a pack of lies — yet our own Prime Minister still can’t?

Why does @Keir_Starmer protect the Brexit myth with ludicrous red lines instead of confronting the damage?

It's striking that the one person who's taken no political damage from Brexit is the person who did most to bring it about.

That's partly because Lab remains afraid to talk honestly about the impact of Brexit.

So long as that continues, they'll take the heat for the consequences of Farage's project
Neither Labour nor the Conservatives have made Farage bear any of the political costs of Brexit that they themselves have endured in terms of intra-party divisions and wider public discontent.

Nine years ago the godfather of Brexit, Lord Daniel Hannan, predicted life in Brexit Britain in June 2025. Roll the tape…

In case you missed it ...
On the night of the Brexit ref in 2016, as the result came in, this young woman was asked how she felt. Her mixture of anger, grief, shame, shock and despair spoke for millions of us. Everything she feared might happen came true. In Britain, and now in the USA.

Not saying the Overton Window has shifted much in the last few years, but the man occasionally mentioned as a possible future British PM is now saying we should judge the politics of his ideological soulmates by the precise angle of their Nazi salutes.
Nigel Farage says that Elon Musk and Steve Bannon's Nazi salutes were "not really Nazi salutes" because "they were out to the side."

This unspeakable piece of shit has been sucking up to Putin since the early 'don't-poke-the Russian-bear' days of the invasion. It seems he's now set on torching his own domestic reputation as part of his slavish devotion.

Damn! Should have measured my blood pressure before listening to Farridge on LBC.

When something is a success, people like to associate themselves with it. So it's noticeable how quiet the Brexiters are.

Brexit cheerleaders have gone awfully quiet – so let me remind you what they did to Britain
If we do talk about it, we start to recognise the gulf between their words and reality

"Pause for a moment to note how the same Brexiters who once insisted EU refrigeration standards for exported kippers, which turned out not to exist, were an intolerable violation of British sovereignty are now untroubled by a foreign oligarch openly engaged in overturning a British election"

When you break from the herd, as we did with Brexit, you become vulnerable. It’s no surprise that Musk has targeted us as a punch bag. Or that the vicious clowns who fetishised ‘sovereignty’ and ‘control’ are brown-nosing him now. ‘Make Britain great again’. Christ, you stupid traitorous bastards.

I don’t want to hear another word from Farage about foreign interference. Hypocrisy you can see from space and I haven’t heard a single broadcaster call him out for it.

Farage cares so much about our sovereignty, he’s selling it to the highest bidder.
