2025 Blue Wave: Almost every county in Virginia moved towards the Democrats compared to the 2024 presidential election. Abigail Spanberger won by 14.6% -- Kamala Harris won VA by only 5.8%. (h/t Axios)

How do we know the Supreme Court is broken and partisan?

Trump is losing cases in district and circuit courts 60% and 59% of the time, respectively, before judges appointed by Dems and Republicans.

But at SCOTUS, Trump only loses 10% of the time. 👀

Factcheck: Cuts to food stamps hurt Red and Blue states equally. Check the map.

Politico’s headline assumes Democrats are moral and Republicans aren’t — that’s the real story. Republicans could grow a conscience and help starving people, but reporters give them a pass.

More from my anti-SAVE Act tour of North Carolina 😆

I spoke with NC local news about Trump's attempt to disenfranchise millions of Americans with the SAVE Act, which would require citizens to show a birth certificate or passport in-person in order to register to vote. 69 million women don't have a birth certificate with their current name on it.

NEW: Texas Democrats are giving up.

With democracy and the 2026 election on the line, they’re folding.

If true, this is outrageous, cowardly,

James Carville is right. (yes, I know that’s tough to hear)

In 2029, Democrats have to expand the Supreme Court and add D.C. and Puerto Rico as states to restore balance to the Court and Senate and reverse America’s decline into authoritarianism. thehill.com/homenews/adm...

Trump's response is to fire the person who creates the job statistics, in an obvious effort to cook the books.

In 2 memos as acting deputy AG, Emil Bove fired 7 FBI agents and 25-30 DOJ prosecutors who investigated and prosecuted January 6 insurrectionists.

Bove said those prosecutions can be "appropriately characterized...as...a grave national injustice."

🚨The Supreme Court is letting Trump send 8 men, illegally deported from the United States, to war-torn South Sudan, where they may be killed or tortured.

This is not who we are.

House passes the big ugly budget.

Only 2 Republicans had the guts to oppose cutting Medicaid and health insurance from 17 million Americans and cutting food assistance from millions more.

Numerous, high-level judges and attorneys are standing by the whistleblower who says Emil Bove, Trump's judicial nominee to the 3rd Circuit, said DOJ should ignore court orders and tell the courts "F*** you."

Class action lawsuits are expensive and slow. They are no substitute for nationwide injunctions that can immediately halt the unconstitutional actions of a lawless president. #SCOTUS news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/...

Justice Jackson's dissent is a swan song for our democracy and the rule of law:

"It is not difficult to predict how this all ends. Eventually, executive power will become completely uncontainable, and our beloved constitutional Republic will be no more."

🚨The Supreme Court has ended nationwide acceptance of birthright citizenship.

Justice Sotomayor, in dissent, compares this to Dred Scott.

Reading Mary Beard’s history of the Roman Empire, and in an eerie parallel to today, the legislature had 2 main groups: power-hungry cowards sucking up to the emperor (Republicans) and ineffective, high-minded opponents (sadly, most Democrats).

Learn from history, or be doomed to repeat it. #books

Supreme Court majority: Everyone in America, even immigrants, get due process. (See below)

Alito and Thomas, dissenting: For complex procedural reasons that we regularly ignore when we want to, we think immigrants should be deported to foreign torture chambers willy-nilly.
May 16, 2025 at 8:53 PM
Due process isn't optional in America—it's guaranteed.

The Trump Administration admits it wrongfully sent Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign torture prison without judicial review.

Now they must follow the Supreme Court's order to return him immediately.
