Tomorrow night we have a huge card of racing at Century Mile to end 2024 with a bang.

In the 11th race finale, which if my math is correct may be the final horse race of 2024 in the world, my boy Smokn Joe will be looking for a big piece of the prize, starting from post position 1.

Can’t wait!!

My boy Smokn Joe woke up feeling dangerous yesterday! Big win for the little guy, and a great drive from Nathan Sobey.

Smokn Joe, 2/1 morning line favorite tomorrow night at Century Mile in Edmonton, race 6.

I’ve never loved being the favorite 🤣 Prefer to be a longer shot, less pressure - but Joe has been racing great and FINALLY gets some post relief. Should be close and competitive!

As for Lil Witch (Sheila), she raced awesome too. Finished fourth, but was locked inside in the stretch. Any room at all and she is probably second.

She’ll race this Friday in Race 1 out of the 7 hole. It’s going to be cold but she is a big, strong filly so I think she will be good to go.

Great third place finish from Smokn Joe on Friday! Just beat a length for the win, really gave his all in the last quarter mile.

He will get a much deserved week off this week and return to the track in early December.

Then tomorrow night we kick things off in Race 1 with Lil Witch. She raced huge last week having to stay wide on the first turn and use a lot of energy to make the front, holding on for third.

She’ll get an inside post this time, but a couple horses drop into her race from the class above.

It’s race weekend again here at Century Mile, and I’ll be sending out two from my stable over the next two nights.

We kick things off with Smokn Joe tonight in Race 8. Poor guy can’t get any draw luck, but is coming off a great third place performance. He’s feeling good and should be a factor.

After a great weekend of racing, with two third place finishes, today was paddock day for Smokn Joe and Lil Witch. They love it!

Tonight we will go the gate with Lil Witch in the second race. She was getting a good rest in earlier.

First day taking the new colt out on the racetrack. Behaved perfectly, and best of all, when another horse went by us, he grabbed onto the bit and showed some competitiveness.

Couldn’t have asked for a better first day for the youngster.

Then on Saturday, my girl Lil Witch (Sheila) is in the 2nd race.

She’s also got an outside post, the 8, but this filly can leave off the wings. I expect she will have some life off the gate, hopefully get positioned somewhere up close, and be a factor down the stretch for the win.

First up is my boy Smokn Joe, 8th race on Friday. He has an outside post, the 7, and may have no other choice but to take back and try to rally at the end.

I expect him to race better than last week, and back in the mix for a top 3.

Today, my little stable of 2 grows to 3 with the addition of a new yearling colt from down East.

Can’t wait to work with this big guy, but first need to think of a new barn and race name for him!
