It is deeply depressing how the most reactionary Home Secretaries of recent years all have similar immigrant family backgrounds. What is going on there? Chosen to somehow sugarcoat deeply hostile anti-immigrant policies or just more virulent ladder-kickers?

The idiocy of the strategy, though, is that this is by no means a majority view. For some inexplicable reason, Labour have spent the last 16 months chasing the same 20% of voters as the Tories & Reform.
The racists still won’t vote for them, meanwhile centre-left voters exit stage left. Madness.
