I don’t think it was me that was handling all of those, but one time it was. I am curious, frustrated and scared. It only happened a few times, but it can cause a huge loss in time if it happens to some samples.

I have been cloning for more than 15 years. This year I started to see pink colonies like those growing on plates LB, synthetic yeast media plates, and liquid insect cell culture media! I tried to miniprep and sequence, got something that didn’t tell me anything I could make sense of. So strange!

Wow. A family member got but by a tick recently and had psychosis as a result. Not from Lyme disease or an infection. I think she went to several Boston hospitals including McLean. Perhaps it is just a coincidence, but i kept wondering how a tick bite could affect the brain. 🧠
