so sad what theyre doing to Mozilla, man. what am i to do? i like good rendering and web extensions but hate Google, closed source software, and Brendan Eich. im about to just stop using a browser altogether.

Tried to help my coworker install nix and devenv on his mac so I could show him how cool it is but none of it fucking worked lol, nix on Mac seems pretty ass imo & now they have a bad impression of nix in general. 👍

as bad as all the AI/LLM hype is, i do find some comfort in the fact that the local/OSS models have a super strong community that only shows since of continuing to grow, it's far preferable to the alternative

If you have a server you know will frequently get pegged at 100% cpu usage and don’t want it to sound like a helicopter is inside your home, use a lower power CPU, or just undervolt/underclock a regular CPU.

i now use a self-hosted bookmarks app hooked up to various RSS feeds, instead of social media. it's been pretty fucking awesome. i still post on bluesky occasionally, but i consider it "write-only" because its discover feed remains one of the most hostile experiences of all time (which suits me!)

hahahah i think i finally solved my slow/inconsistent internet issue after investigating each of the seven (7) 2.5GbE switches scattered throughout my home. the culprit? a bad ethernet cable was randomly bottlenecking my entire house's throughput to 100mb/s, lol
