The proof her explanations are real good! This is my first ever toe up socks! #knitting

Scored 10 too. I claim this test has little validity!
Son and husband disagree, but they're not knitters!

And do you know what is in your stash?
Because mine is a fifth of that size and I keep forgetting what I own.

Thank you! I don't mind the maths but I do mind the i-cord (so boring). But I get that it will indeed strengthen the straps

The straps seem very narrow to support the weight of an entire dress.
Do you know if those straps will elongate through wearing or if there is a special trick that makes them able to sustain the weight? (Enquiring as I am interested in knitting a dress too).

Yet it helps a lot when you are buying yarn online and internationally! It's a rough approximate, a first selection tool.

More like for spring. Slip stitch patterns create a far more dense pattern than stockinette. Aka I had to repurpose my project into sth for spring/autumn.

Same for me. Frogged a colour pattern that took me several hours to knit. Colours in skeins and knitted just don't contrast as much sometimes. It's odd, isn't it?

I am reading you whilst wearing a shawl collar on my jumper. I wonder why you view this kind of shawl as traditionally masculine. Many female patterns come with a shawl collar too. I guess what pattern details we view as belonging to a specific gender varies through time.

A boucle yarn for cables seems like an odd choice. But maybe the designer has a contract with a specific wool brand.

The bottom one. Better stitch definition.

When I was like 14 watching the 2016 elections and Russia started coming up I remember thinking “there’s no way in hell they could be so easily tricked, right? Right?”

Heh

Oh good to know! I was completely wrong 🥴.
I mostly knit with wool and I don't know why I assumed cotton and linen were flame retardant too.

babies puke a lot. In that case, I think I'd go all acrylic for convenience and making (Oeko-tex certified too). I would also never use indie dyed wool for a baby if I don't know exactly what the yarn has been processed with (the kind of toxic stuff you can use to dye wool at home is scary!)

I would also go for a yarn that is Oeko-tex or even GOTS-certified. Babies have sensitive skins and you want to be sure the yarn has been processed in a way that is safe.I would go all natural fibers as they are also naturally flame retardant. But that's me, not rules! Some 1/2

Well I like this design! Which brand is it from?
