@ishtar.bsky.social Interesting, I’ve detected uranium quite easily from 6 porcelain plates!

@ishtar.bsky.social I’m not used to calibration settings looking like this, no keV energies, nothing 🤔
April 8, 2025 at 3:29 AM
@ishtar.bsky.social Unlike my uranium samples (especially the 6.5 gram one) I feel comfortable carrying around that little 10 mg (according to the seller) or so thorium sample 24/7 as the amount of radiation is so low I can hardly even detect it lol 😂

@ishtar.bsky.social After striking out and searching for years I have finally gotten my hands on some metallic thorium very tiny but it’s there! I don’t know the mass but it is indeed radioactive albeit VERY slightly ☢️
March 9, 2025 at 10:10 PM
@ishtar.bsky.social BTW the fact that it emitted enough gamma rays to set off the alarm like that tells me that the mineral had to a pretty big specimen, not even my 6.5 gram depleted uranium sample would’ve done that; I would have loved to see that on video lol 😂
I mean normally. I had the low range alarm off. The piece they had in the building was so damn hot it set it off at the higher range. It was like a 10 Lb chunk of betafite

@ishtar.bsky.social During your trip to the Ruggles Mine years ago you could’ve gotten away with bringing your Polimaster with you by keeping it hidden in your pocket so they wouldn’t notice lol 😂

@ishtar.bsky.social I had to purchase this! I wanted a uranium sample that isn’t significantly oxidized unlike my other samples! Such a marvelous looking metal!

@ishtar.bsky.social Nice feature with this update 👍

Green is the background btw

@ishtar.bsky.social I see the IOS version of RadiaCode has finally added the background feature. I’m still waiting for the calibration feature though lol 😂

@ishtar.bsky.social Oh no, I’m going to miss that account, so many great videos from there over the years 😥
I deleted my twitter account.

I've had it lockdown and not in use for a year. Originally I'd hoped msk would go away, but the apartheid creep never did.

So if you see anybody on Twitter using my name, it's not me 💜

@ishtar.bsky.social I thought Kamala had this election in the bag as I was thinking that people (the same ones who kept Trump from winning re-election in 2020) would’ve had some sense to not put Trump back in office due to his atrocious last presidential run 🗳️
November 6, 2024 at 2:57 PM
@ishtar.bsky.social Bummer, I thought Kamala had this election in the bag due to Trump’s disastrous last presidential term and his legal issues among others. I really wanted a female be elected president for the first time.

@ishtar.bsky.social I didn’t know that 40Ca being a double magic number is the reason why there are no gamma emissions involved when 40K undergoes the prominent beta decay route.

@ishtar.bsky.social this guy talks about things I don’t hear from any other nuclear physics channel. He often comes up with terms that I’ve never even heard of before lol 😂

@ishtar.bsky.social It’s funny that many people fear cesium because of it’s infamous radioisotope.
It looks like it readily forms crystals
July 6, 2024 at 4:17 PM
@ishtar.bsky.social Look at these gorgeous metallic crystals of cesium! ✨

@ishtar.bsky.social Here’s my francium sample btw lol 😂
July 2, 2024 at 11:14 AM
@ishtar.bsky.social I have all of the alkali metals here except for rubidium and francium.
July 1, 2024 at 2:21 PM
@ishtar.bsky.social 🤩 Wow, I would love to have one of those thorium cubes if I had $20,000 lying around! Sucks that metallic thorium is so bloody expensive! 😞😔💰💸💵

@ishtar.bsky.social Do you see the connection here between the two elements on the left RadiaCode and the RadiaCode itself? lol 😂

Don’t mind the potassium 😂

@ishtar.bsky.social Cesium is such a cool metal to have! So fun to melt into a gorgeous golden liquid!

@ishtar.bsky.social Here’s a better shot: notice the gorgeous golden color?
