Agreed, orange fiesta-ware is indeed better in terms of activity but at least I can say that those plates have a trace amounts of radium in them the same stuff in old watch dials and compasses lol 😂😂😂

Who needs the orange fiesta-ware if we want some uranium containing dishes? lol

I’ve detected much more uranium activity in my fossil megalodon teeth and I carry those around lol

I know right? They’re doing their calibration things by coefficients which absolutely makes 0 sense to me! I prefer the keV way of calibration because it’s much easier to understand lol

Yikes, was it that bad? 😂
March 10, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Oops, I meant K, Th & U lol 😂
March 10, 2025 at 7:06 PM
I wanted all three of the elements (K, Th & Th) predominantly responsible for the natural terrestrial background radiation that we’re all exposed to as well as having two *easily available primordial actinides (Th & U) in their pure form!

Good thing for those mineralogy classes as I don’t think I would have been able to find many uranium minerals myself without those radiation detecting devices except for the fluorescent ones as I don’t know all the uranium minerals that exist and their properties.
March 8, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Bummer, that would’ve been an easy way to sneak a radiation detector past their radar if it wasn’t for that alarm. Does that device have a setting to deactivate the alarm?

They got “fired” for playing with fire i.e. voting for Trump and now they are suffering the consequences, pun fully intended lol 😂 🔥
March 7, 2025 at 1:21 PM
They were warned not to play with fire but they did so anyway and now look what happened: they got burned and thus must deal with the consequences lol 😂 🔥
March 7, 2025 at 1:18 PM
They made up their beds now they got to lay in them, cry us a river lol 😂

I believe that most 405nm violet lasers use gallium nitride.

Pretty cool shining them through uranium glass objects watching the uranium turn the violet laser beam into a green one via fluorescence.
December 19, 2024 at 5:33 PM
What’s that exactly, the high-energy 3.06 eV photons that are causing the uranium ions to fluoresce?
December 19, 2024 at 4:04 PM
You can use some of them to do cool effects like this, no life endangerment required!
December 19, 2024 at 11:26 AM
Stupid, just absolutely stupid! 🤦‍♂️

There are better and safer ways to use lasers such as using a violet laser to light up fluorescent uranium glass and minerals, writing on phosphorescent materials, etc.

And things are likely not going to be any better for you folks with Trump re-elected. Such a shame that Kamala didn’t win because at least partially because people didn’t want a female president; I got into a minor argument with someone over this matter so I’m aware that is part of the reason why.

How can anyone condone killing a fellow human being just because they’re transgender? That’s sadistic!
