Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

If one parses the equivocating language, this is the right decision, but it is clear Beilock is not the right president for Dartmouth at this moment. She lacks the moral courage to defend the College’s values and independence assertively.

Anyone who wants to understand exactly why Dartmouth and the eight other universities should not sign the “compact” should read this.

If a federal judge, appointed by Trump, can call him “simply untethered to facts,” our White House press corps can as well.

Paging President Sian Beilock.
Here's yet another example of a university president clearly articulating the stakes of this administration's actions and how to respond to them, but she thinks silence is a better strategy. Such an embarrassment for Dartmouth.

This is an important message. I completely and unreservedly endorse it. Thank you to our friends at BADA!
The Black Alumni Association of Dartmouth's email was suspended by the college after they shared this message of concern over the treatment of student protesters. As a result, they asked us to share their message widely. dartmouth.imodules.com/controls/ema...
We have been witnessing a steady erosion of trust within the Dartmouth community, and this moment demands that each of us examine the situation critically and ask the difficult questions.

I completely agree, although this assumes a university wants to take a stand and not just stay quiet and hope no one notices (*cough* Dartmouth *cough*).
This is a model for other universities. Engage your alumni - tell them why the work is important, what's at stake, and ask them to support you.

The true leader of the Democrats.
AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

It’s pretty interesting that both Tim Walz and Gavin Newsom are clearly positioning themselves to run for President and one thought he should publicize that he’s having diplomatic conversations with Canadian provinces close to Minnesota and the other thought he should publicize that he sucks

Corporate leaders who were fine with Trump sadistically imposing mass suffering on vulnerable groups as long as they got their tax cuts deserve every last bit of what this madman is now unleashing on them with these tariffs. Assholes.
