I just left the Everglades Immigrant Interment Camp. No, I’m not using their ridiculous name. It was a very tough to witness humans in those cages. Every Floridian should be ashamed that our taxpayer money is being used for this.

I hate this holiday so freaking much. There is literally no reason to celebrate this dumpster fire, and I’m curled up with my poor dog who has been anxious-panting for 3 hours because our asshat neighbors are shooting off fireworks even though they are banned. I hope they all blow their faces off.

I am feeling sad, broken, and tired. I keep waiting and wondering when we’ll acknowledge what is happening around us. I wake up to some fresh new hell every morning, no matter how many times I think it can’t possibly get any worse.

And just like that… they’re gone. I watched yesterday morning as each little baby left the nest box, one by one. I’ll admit, I got a bit emotional about it. Watching them hatch, grow, and finally fly away was really special.
