Good to see NPR using words like "rambled" and "racist".

"The decline in teenage pregnancy is a major story here and it rarely gets discussed. ...the average number of children for 17-year-olds around 0.13 in 2000. That’s around one in eight, and that goes to 0.024 by 2024. That’s a near-total disappearance of teen childbearing over a single generation."
New post: The Eldest Millennials Had the Same Fertility as the Youngest Baby Boomers.

I did not have a strong take digging into 'fertility crisis' debates, but was genuinely surprised as how different the data is from the panic of that Discourse.

Every David Brooks opinion piece is a dumpster fire and the one today (to which I will not provide a link because nobody should read it) is no different.

It starts with a consistent leftward punch saying that Democrats believe less in the ideals of America and ends with a paean to Ronald Reagan.

No idea why an Afghan refugee shot National Guard soldiers within walking distance of the White House, but this new USCIS directive was revealed on Monday. Worth noting.
The folks at @afghanevac.bsky.social have in hand a new USCIS directive which largely targets Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban in the wake of the U.S. withdrawal in 2021.
