If your site can afford to do it, block most or all foreign i.p. address blocks and domains. Additionally, ipv6 seems to suffer far fewer attacks at this point in history.
(WSJ) -- China's state-sponsored hackers used artificial intelligence technology from Anthropic to automate break-ins of major corporations and foreign governments during a September hacking campaign, the company said Thursday.

UBNT/Ubiquiti has done something right, so in a rare turn of events I am ecstatic that they actually select the only field that you'd want in a login screen. ALL web form developers should do this yesterday! I don't need to mouse around or tab my way to the username field, do it automagically!

Why is it the UNIVERSAL serial bus? It should be the Galaxial Serial Bus because it gets all kinds of upset if you move the cable from one port to another, acts like it's a totally new, unknown device. Tanks fer nuttin!

💡 CSS Tip!

In Anchor Positioning, you can use position-area to place an element relatively to its anchor, but there are 36 different positions !? 👀

No one can memorize them all, so I've created an interactive demo where you can select a position and get its code.

💯 loved this talk @scott.hanselman.com well done!

We're from the same generation of tech, similar socio-economic level too; and saw the same promise in it back then.
Awesome call-outs on current state!

Big s/o to teachers & human beings like Mrs Hill who see and foster their students passions ❤️🙏🏽
I just wanted to say, I’m probably more proud of this Ted talk than just about anything I’ve ever done so I’m gonna be absolutely useless for the next couple of weeks as I promote the shit out of this because I want you to watch it because it matters in the moment we are in youtu.be/dVG8W-0p6vg

I'd much prefer a guide to destroying Javascript tbh
I’ve got some big things coming to Piccalilli in the leadup to piccalil.li/javascript-f..., but consider this a retroactive preview:

If you only know `...` as "thing that turns nodeLists into Arrays," you're missing out on powerful features you could be using right now.

Mat “Wilto” Marquis walks us through JavaScript destructuring, the rest syntax and spread syntax in a jam-packed guide.

An interesting paper on why C no longer maps well to modern hardware. Instead of continually optimizing hardware design to support legacy abstractions like the serial execution model of C, the paper points out it is time to rethink the programming model itself. 🧵

Craftsmanship is dead. Or rephrased: a sense of craft is dead.

Beautifully articulated.

Brings to mind one of my most enduring beliefs: small acts of repair are amongst the most powerful tools at our disposal.

A hole in a sock, wobbly chair leg, a typo in an article, a tiny error in a single line of code amongst millions.
So much talk about factories is making me think about one of the most popular things I've ever written about work, which is also about my grandfather, craft, and whether or not we see humanity in the people we consign to "the factory"
