I don’t think the description here is very apt (there is no reality outside of symbolic exchange for Baudrillard) but I do think he’s actually very good at describing the current moment to a certain degree because he’s a deeply conservative thinker himself. Someone should write in this!

I developed a severe skin allergy to my cat after having her for 15 years and after trying almost everything, I think I might have to give her up. I don’t know how to handle this. I love her as much as I’ve ever loved anything, but it’s constant torture having her in my apt.
