Wife, mother, grandmother, and Auntie. I love my country, and I love and support our military service men and women. I will NOT accept DM's looking for love or a good time!
(cont.) We are I literally living in fear of what our administration will do next. Your opinion on where our country stands and where we are headed is appreciated. I know you can't predict, nor is there a crystal ball, but I feel I can trust you for an honest analysis of what the hell is going on.

@mcuban.bsky.social PLEASE give us some hope. I have followed you and respected your opinions for many years now. Baby boomers (myself included) are terrified. I feel like we should prepare for the apocalypse. I feel we should empty our accounts except for what bills are on auto pay. (cont.)

This man makes me ill. A more thorough background check should be done on Josh Calloway.
It would be a very cold day in hell before I would vote for him.

Today is January 6th and no one is watching the Capitol be plundered, feces being smeared on the walls, and police officers being stabbed with American flags.

Why? Because one side believes in democracy no matter what, and the other side only believes in it only when they win.

After working in New York for 30 years as a Merchant Marine, my brother-in-law always called the NYT, New York Trash. Once again, he was right. For them to select DJT for Man of The Year, as they did Hitler in the 30s, proves the garbage isn't worth reading.

Out of curiosity, if we left Twitter/X because of Musk and Trump and their degenerate entourage, why do I consistently see Bluesky posts with screenshots of them daily? Aren't we here to get away from them? I'm finding myself using the News Thread more often.

I read that voters are now having buyers remorse.

So instead of getting what they really wanted...they settled for less.

Interesting. I personally, have never looked at it like buying a house.

It's not my fault
I voted blue! 🤗

So Trump FINALLY picks a good guy (Sheriff Chad Chronister) to lead DEA, and them loses him. The devil himself only knows who he will pick next. 🙄

Elon’s fraudulent “government department” wants to get rid of the government department that actually protects consumers from fraud.
Elon Musk called Wednesday for the elimination of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, one of the nation’s most powerful watchdog agencies, signaling it could be scrapped as part of a planned review of government spending ordered by President-elect Donald Trump.

Time to give @bluesky props. As I write this, there are 560 quotes and replies to the post below.

Of those only 4 call me names and give me shit. About 15 do the same towards Trump.

The remaining 541 are on topic and add value.

It’s a battle of political leverage. Who can use tariffs, retaliatory tariffs or sanctions to create more political pain for the other leader. Forcing them to capitulate or face undesired consequences.

How crazy would it be if China, Mexico and/or Canada initiated tariffs before Trump took office
From your standpoint as a businessman and manufacturer, is there any sense behind this? Especially now that other countries are threatening tariffs of their own in retaliation. But that doesn't make sense cause it would mean raising their own taxes.

Then it could be disruptive. Much like China moving much of their purchases of soy beans from the USA to Brazil. Mexico could also threaten to move purchases of corn from the USA to China. That would hurt our farmers a lot. No doubt they are all looking at these options of retaliation

The US has leverage on Canada and Mexico. Unless there are products that both import, that they could buy elsewhere, truly hurting a red state.

If Mexico and China negotiated a trade deal where Mexico bought say 50b of goods from China instead of from the USA.

Maybe if Trump would vet his picks before announcing. Of course not. The POS doesn't roll that way.
